Why this list is short

I link only to things I have used myself and for which I can give a reason. A long list would be quickly assembled, but it would not take the work off your hands that actually matters: deciding where to start.

Enterprise Architecture Management

  • Archi – a free, open-source tool for modelling enterprise architectures using the ArchiMate standard. If you want to try EAM seriously without buying a licence first, this is the usual way in. My own EAM tools can export to ArchiMate, so you can move between the two.
  • The Open Group – TOGAF – the most widely used framework for enterprise architecture. Extensive, and in its pure form too heavy for smaller companies; as a quarry for individual building blocks, however, very usable. How that can be transferred to SMEs is described in the article Introducing EAM with TOGAF.

Consulting

  • Hanschke Consulting – Inge Hanschke has written several standard works on Enterprise Architecture Management that consistently aim at practicality. Anyone wondering what EAM can look like in a mid-sized company will find well-founded answers there.

Education and training

  • Europäische Fernhochschule Hamburg – this is where I completed my master's in Business Coaching and Change Management alongside work, together with several certificate courses. For people who want to study while working, recommendable from my own experience.
  • Landsiedel Seminare – a provider of NLP and coaching training. I took NLP Practitioner, systemic coaching and several method seminars there.
  • Udemy – video courses on almost everything, of very mixed quality. Often sufficient for a quick first approach to a tool or technique; not as the basis for a qualification.

What you will deliberately not find here

No paid links, no affiliate programmes and no recommendations for things I do not know. If I point to something, I have worked with it.

Explanations of the technical terms are in the glossary, book tips under book recommendations and online course recommendations. My own articles – on ITIL, COBIT, process models and getting started with IT service management – are in the blog, and my free tools under Resources.
